Ernest Borgnine who won the best-actor Oscar for playing a lovesick butcher in MARTY in 1955, died Sunday. He was 95.
I admired his vitality in recent years. He never looked or acted like a man in his 90′s. He would have kept working if he could saying “I just want to do more work,” he said. “Every time I step in front of a camera I feel young again. I really do. It keeps your mind active and it keeps you going.”
